More writings from elder in Sacred Pentagraph, Laura Leteges, “A Collection of Poetry.”
This booklet is poetry that can be used at a large gatherings for May Eve or Beltane – including the Maypole and ideas surrounding Arthurian themes & myths.
My two favorite pieces of poetry she wrote in this one is:
- the Wizard’s Maypole Instructions
- Lord of the Hunt’s Final Farewell
In the Sacred Pentagraph tradition, we do have two Esbat rituals from the Early Days that we still have that did this change over from the Goddess rule for Spring & Summer and the God Rule for Autumn and Winter… they weren’t part of the Sabbats, but actually two full moon rituals to be performed as Esbats:
- Awakening of the Goddess – A Full Moon Esbat for May (Flower Moon)
- Changing the Tides (God Rule) – a Full Moon Esbat in November (Hunter’s Moon)
So these rituals for the change over from God of the Hunting Season and Goddess of the agricultural season still exist in our tradition and can still be used today by covens who want to use them.
Now on the other one – the Wizards maypole instructions are pretty fun too – involves the use of petitions while dancing the Maypole.
